Recipe for Teriyaki Chicken Stir Fry
Hey so here is an easy weeknight dinner for your family that everyone will love you can add whatever veggies to the chicken and to the homemade teriyaki sauce. This one is a healthier alternative to ordering Chinese food plus you’ll save money!
Ingredients:
Chicken Breast Sliced (3 or 4 breasts for a serving of 5 ppl)
Salt and Pepper
Brown Sugar
Coconut Aminos (or Low Sodium Soy Sauce)
Red Pepper Flakes
One White Onion
Green Onions
Sesame Seeds
Your choice of Vegetables (I used broccoli and mushrooms)
Olive Oil (I used Chilli Olive Oil from Trader Joes – we are a spicy household)
Cornstarch
Preparation:
Slice all of the vegetables
Chop green onions for topping later
Put stove on medium-high heat
Pour on a moderate amount of olive oil
Put in sliced onions
Mix around till brown
Place all the sliced chicken in and cook chicken
Teriyaki Sauce
In a bowl stir red pepper flakes, brown sugar, and coconut aminos or soy sauce in a medium to large bowl 1 Cup of brown sugar and 1 ¾ th cup of Soy Sauce. Mix well then Add in ½ cup of cornstarch and mix it well and leave it on the side.
Once the chicken is cooked add in the vegetables and lower to low-medium heat and stir. Add in more oil if necessary. Cover and let it cook for about 5-8 minutes.
Add in the teriyaki sauce and stir then cover again and leave it covered for about another 10 minutes.
Top if off the chopped green onions (scallions), salt and pepper, and sesame seeds.
