Motherhood!
Wow, I can’t believe it’s almost been 7 months since I gave birth to my beautiful little baby boy. Motherhood is full of ups and downs but it is so rewarding. I get to see this tiny human blossom into the man that one day will be a gentleman a dad, a lover, and a strong support system to our family and to his.
Motherhood is Tough
What’s tough about it? Well as you mothers know breastfeeding! Breastfeeding is one of the most difficult things that mothers, newly mothers have to deal with. It can be energy draining, also time-consuming and if your hormones are out of whack already from carrying a baby inside you can make you all kinds of moody! Don’t fret, with the new times coming women or at least I don’t judge if you choose not to breastfeed or if you breastfeed. All mothers should firstly be happy and able to raise a child rather than putting the child first and risking herself for postpartum depression that then results to problems within the relationship with the dad or the family. A fed baby is a happy baby, a happy mommy is a happy baby!
Learn What works for You
Let us lift each other up because being a mom is not easy and we have to make decisions based on what we think is best there is no one best answer to raise your child or to breastfeed or use formula.
For me I stopped breastfeeding at 2 months because my hormones were out of whack, I was physically drained, I was so emotional that I didn’t have time to do anything else because I was constantly feeding the baby, changing the baby, playing with the baby, then pumping for at least 30 minutes and trying to also be a super mom and get everything done at the house like dishes and laundry.
Know When You Need Help
Lesson learned, not everything can be done by yourself. Ask for help it’s not a sign of weakness don’t wait until you’re bawling your eyes out and frustrated with your husband or partner. We are humans we ALL need some alone time whether it’s just to scroll through Instagram or unwind with a game, or an episode of American Horror Story!
Just know you’re doing good, you’re doing the best that you can and don’t feel guilty or bad if you’re not like the other moms, because Mean Girls quote, “I’m not a regular mom, I’m a cool mom!”
Enjoy your adventure into motherhood!
